A question for the global warming regulars: Should Dirac block the troll?

Question

This is a question about the troll that keeps harassing Dirac, the only climate scientist left in this category, and Dirac's ''ethics'' of not blocking him. It's not like blocking a regular or someone that disagrees, where a discussion (I know I use the term ''discussion'' loosely here) but nevertheless it is not like blocking a ''normal'' user, it's blocking a stupid troll!

I have learned a lot from Dirac, and I think many here also did. 
Dirac is obviously very intelligent, very educated and very knowledgeable.

IDK if this will make him change his mind or not, I'm just curious about what you think. For me, I block as many of the troll's accounts as I can and I report them when it is against the guidelines. The troll harasses, impersonates, insults, makes false accusations etc., The troll blocks Dirac and many of us. 
Don't you think it would be fair for him to block the troll?

I think it would be rather pointless unfortunately. Darwinist said he's blocked at least 60(!) of the clown's accounts, and he makes new ones every day. Plus most of his posts are questions rather than answers.

Maybe if Yahoo enforced only one account per phone number, or basic IP restrictions, or some kind of biometric authentication, then it would make creating sock puppets a lot harder. But if they haven't done it by now then they probably have no intention of ever doing so.

Thanks for thinking of me, but I don't really see blocking would help, and I don't like the idea of blocking anyone anyway. Elizabeth is correct, Yahoo needs to eliminate anonymous posting and blocking.  In addition, it needs to eliminate multiple accounts. That is probably the biggest thing that leads to abuse.

Fair, yes ... but probably not worth it given the number of accounts. But I think there is a "higher ground" issue. The troll blocks anyone who disagrees with him.

Back in ye olde days we all disagreed, with 100s of comments going back and forth. I disagreed with Sagebrush and Jimz, SolarWind and a host of others, but we didn't block one another because the arguments were part of the fun of it all. The fact that we all still don't block each other just singles out the troll as being an idiot no one really has time for. It's why most of his questions have almost no answers.

How do you solve it? Yahoo needs to remove anonymous posting and blocking.
