Who doesn't like the NHL's 2020 playoff format? And what is your preferred playoff set-up?
Personally, I like what the NHL did in 1979-80---the top sixteen teams qualified regardless of division OR conference. #1 played #16, #2 played #15, etc. Too bad it was only in use for a year or two.
(This, of course, explains why the Flyers and Isles met in the Finals in the spring of 1980 despite being in the same division and conference. As NHL fans know, the Islanders beat the Flyers in six games to clinch their first of four straight Stanley Cup titles.)

I didn't like the intra-division format used for the last several years. The issue with the 1-16 format (which I don't mind) is travel. Teams don't want a 2-3-2 format (which would make travel easier) and a 2-2-1-1-1 format makes for a ton of long flights.
Ideally, you'd have a 1-16, 2-15 and so on (I'd argue for this as it truly rewards teams for regular season performance) if you can make the travel work.
