What happened to pro wrestling?
What happened to the memorable themes, the pyro, the titantrons, the long term storytelling, in-ring psychology, matches that made sense, neat PPVs. Now we have crap like AEW with The Bucks, TF is that ****?
The Oct. 05, 1998 episode of RAW with the hospital segments is still pure gold.

Attitude era and wcw was gold I agree.
Wrestling got very lame and boring now.
Theres no characters, coked out steroid monsters, drunks, or people off script. It's way too corporate now and like circus olet or whatever.
Everybody looks the same too and wrestles the same.
It's also very predictable and pg now.
Bring back the sex and violence. Cussing, hardcore and brutal matches.
Bring back making hot females sex objects. Bring back the racism. Wrestling is way too diverse now.
The indie circuit is mostly blacks and homosexuals. Its rediculous.

I am soooooo offended by AEW. The show never starts with a 20 minute promo. They also have no rest holds during matches. They also never have a suicide dive followed by commercials. How am I supposed to know when to do my doodoo break if they do not have suicide dives followed by commercials?!?!?

The Themes: There are still some good memorable ones, but with WWE firing Jim Johnston and now CFO$, it's going to be awhile before we get another good one.
The Pyro: They have started doing pyro more sparingly. AEW is big on pyros though.
The trons: They still have titantrons, they're just not always highlight reels.
Long Term Storytelling: There are certain elements of continuity, like the Fiend's arc of regressing wrestlers to their past selves, plenty of long term booking on NXT as well. As for AEW, they've done a great-to-serviceable job having continuity from show to show
In-Ring Psychology: It's still there. Arguably WWE has it's best roster ever when it comes to pure wrestling from the top to the bottom of the card. AEW's a whole other beast though. It's very indie-riffic with it's no sells, so is NXT for that matter, but yeah. Psychology is still there, it's only certain elements have either changed or been omitted outright, which is worthy of being mad about.
Matches That Made Sense: While I'll be the first to jump on stuff like a 4-way iron man going to a draw or a Hell in a Cell ending in ref stoppage, or even goofy stuff like Eye for an Eye, I'd say flubs are more common than they have been in WWE history, but still fairly rare. AEW's biggest offender for me is the Casino Battle Royal, yet they continue going on with this hodgepodge formula.
Neat PPVs: They overexposed them, replaced elaborate set pieces with the same old LED sets they use for Raw and Smackdown. Granted, NXT did do a pretty cool thing with the In Your House motif awhile back. AEW has also sadly let me down with their set pieces, often just putting up the big chandelier over the ramp and keeping things the same as television.
Now we have to put up with AEW: Ummm...no you don't? change the channel, don't watch at all. NXT could certainly use the Wednesday ratings boost, that is if they don't move to Tuesday. There's also other wrestling out there free online like NWA Powerrr, MLW Fusion, etc. Have fun catching up with those products during the quarantine. I feel like MLW might be up to your speed.
