so i want to install silent fan into my ups.. but the ups detects when i remove stock fan from it (which is loud).. i figured it detects from the yellow wire which is (speed sensor or rpm).. i want some device to mimic its rpm sensor so i can remove the stock fan.. or any other simple mod... thanks

Use a quieter fan that also has the RPM sensor as part of its connector. That'll be easier than trying to fake it out.

REPLACE the fan, don't just remove it. By replacing the fan, you get the quiet you want, and no problem with the sensor. Additionally, by keeping a fan in the PS, you keep the thing from overheating.
