Lewis Howard Latiner had a patient  on the filament in 1872.   Latiner worked for Bell & helped develop the telephone. Google "Process of Manufacturing Carbon".

Latiner's invention helped to develop the light bulb. The first successful bulb was developed in Edison Lab.

There were 22 "inventors" of the light bulb before Edison.  Edison didn't invent jack shizz.  He had a huge ensemble of engineers and scientists working for him and he patented and marketed their works.

"In 1761, Ebenezer Kinnersley demonstrated heating a wire to incandescence.[7]"

No, not the glass bulb itself, but he created the carbon filament for it.

No. The Black man (Lewis Howard Latimer) you're thinking of simply improved on the filament used IN an incandescent light bulb. Some one needs to tell Joe that too.
