How much volt can tiny transistor take?
id like to know exact the input voltage for transistors, and do they need heatsink? cause it heats.. im talking about small transistors which output 3.5v or 8v.. mosfet i think

INPUT VOLTAGE APPLIES BETWEEN BASE AND EMITTER(NPN TRANASISTOR) IS LIMITED TO NOT HIGHER THEN 0.7V, SAME CONDITION TO SET UP ITS BAIS VOLTAGE.
TRANSISTOR GETS HEAT UP ON SMALL POWER TRANSISTOR MEANS IT IS OVER LOADED WITH WRONG DESIGNED.
SMALL POWER TRANSISTOR DOES NOT NEED HEAT SINK BECAUSE IT IS NOT DESIGNED TO HAVE SUCH FEATURE.

Small signal transistors have voltage, current and power limits which are published in a Data Sheet which shows all tested specifications with and without a heat sink dissipater.

too open ended. Need the exact circuit and application.
Transistors can take up to the rated voltages, which varies with transistor, from 10 volts to 1000 volts on the collector.
input voltage, assuming common emitter, depends on the circuit. The junction transistor itself can handle only a volt or less, but the input circuit changes that. FET transistors can handle perhaps 20 volts, again, depending on exact transistor specifications, they are all different.
Show us the circuit you are using, perhaps we can help. but if it is overheating, it is probably already dead. Most circuits with signal transistors do not require a heat sink, so getting hot is an indication of a problem.
