Do I stop hanging out with my ex?
So we broke up almost a year ago and have stayed good friends. She knew I still wanted more with her but she says we need to work on how we treat other people in relationships because we argued a lot. And I was happy being friends until I found out she downloaded a dating app and has been going on dates. Now I’m not angry at all in fact the opposite I’m happy she’s moving on but I don’t want to be reminded of it every time we meet. I’d rather stop seeing her than see her with another man. Shall I tell her I don’t want to be friends anymore just coz i don’t want to see that or find a way to deal with her dating? Thanks in advance

Why not be honest and just tell her that you realize you can't be hanging around while she's dating. You thought you could, you can't and so you'll be distancing yourself now. That it's best, for you, to pull away. I can see no reason why you can't pull off saying that and then doing it as well. Being "friendly" with an ex means you don't ignore them in line at the movies or act like you hate them when your paths intersect. It doesn't mean you're best buddies and need hear about their dates!

There is a thing called "self preservation." If something is making you uncomfortable, you are not required to endure it just because your reasoning may not seem rational to the person on the receiving end.

Do whatever it is that you need to do in order for a sense of self-preservation. I have no idea what you should tell her. I'm not you
