What is Feature to Windows 10, version 2004?

I am no expert at this update thing or I don't know this "Windows 10, version 2004". Also, can you clarify, make a synopsis, or summarize it, to understand what is this mean and purpose. Please and thank you.

Update:

Should I press the "Download and install" or ignore it?

Twice a year Microsoft brings out major updates to windows 10, these are called “Feature updates”. These are changes in the functionality of windows. The rest of the time Microsoft releases bug fixes, security updates etc every other Tuesday. Listing the new feature updates is beyond the scope of YA and you can easy look them up on the Microsoft website

Feature. Noun. A prominent or conspicuous part or characteristic. In other words, it has new parts and can do more things. If you want to know what they are, read here:

When Microsoft came out with Windows 10, they wanted to do things differently.

First, they wanted every Windows user in the world to be using the same version of Windows--that's why they offered free upgrades to Windows 7 and 8 users, so we'd all be on the same page (if our computer was new/fast/big enough to run Windows 10.)

Secondly, they wanted periodic updates, so there would be no Windows 11 or Windows 12.  As happens with Linux, every user of Windows 10 would be automatically upgraded to the newest version.  Eventually it would be just 'Windows'.

So there WAS supposed to be a major update every 3 months, and you'd get it on the 2nd Tuesday of each month automatically, if you were connected to the Internet.  (I'm guessing about the actual day of the month.  It's something like that.  I forget.)

Now since they made that decision, there have been several major updates.  They're named after the year and month, so 2004 is  April, 2020.

So far ALL of the updates have been late.  They announce them, and you can go to their site and get them.  Or after a week or two they'll be downloaded automatically.  2004 is the latest one.

There are bugfixes and new features in each new release.  But nothing you'd notice right away.  You should get the new upgrades when they come automatically, because there are smaller upgrades that come out every few days, as they fix bugs and add new things.

If you want to know what's new in 2004, just google "new features in windows 10 2004".  It's a bunch of small things, nothing that would make your nipples hard.
