Haven't yahoo and msn switched off their comments sections because they lost the argument for Liberalism, so better to just shut people up?

I think anon missed the point that you were talking about the comment section to their news stories.    To answer your question, yes.  Contributions in the comment section called out their horseshit.   It's bad enough being called out, but their narrative was being invalidated for all to see.

They made their intentions clear when they said this was a temporary move.  "Temporary" as in "through election season".

Taking away freedom of speech is sooooo Orwellian.

Has the Newspeak dictionary been passed round yet?

It seems to be the case. The comments section was an important part of the process. Answer clarification. In politics it is particularly important as answers are not as cut and dry.

In math 4+4 is 8, no need to clarify.

It`s a good way to stop the communication between folks...but it lets me listen to my music more, and i like that.

Ya'll upset because your Russian Troll Masters pay you by the comment.

Yahoo has impacted your income and slowed doen the gravy train of Rubles you used to get.

    SAD 🙁

This is a Q and A service, but it was turning into a forum for radical trolls. That's why Yahoo turned off the comments. Too much mudslinging, and they would rather not spend good money to get rid of the aholes and losers who were ruining it.

They're hoping for some kind of comeback, but there aren't that many stupid people.

Can you explain how "they lost their argument for liberalism" please?

And how do you define a liberal?  Let me guess, "terrorist subhuman minorities and race traitor white scumbags terrorists"?

No, it's because people are supposed to ask and answer questions here, dummy.
