How is the act of blowing up a balloon different from the act of breathing in?
This is a concept I need to understand, and I am still confused by it.
(yes i know blowing up a balloon is exhalation).

Blowing up a balloon is by forcing air in to make it expand.
Breathing in is expanding the lungs by movement of diaphragm and ribs to suck air in.
So in the first case expansion is caused by movement of air; in the second case expansion causes movement of air.
Does that help?
