Why America is not giving free health care facilities for all its citizens?

America can certainly afford to give free health care facilities to its citizens.

You underestimate both the sheer number of Americans and overestimate the health infrastructure available to them. The US has a tragic shortage of practitioners and without addressing that first any kind of universal access here would make the waiting lines to see a doctor years and years long. People also need to learn more about Medicare before they demand that for all of us. Medicare is not free, it's not that good, many doctors don't take it and most seniors on that programs also have to buy supplemental insurance because their government healthcare covers so little. Medicare for all isn't the panacea sometimes think it is. People championing this must not have any elderly relatives or else they'd know how truly not great this would be.

Why don't you cite for us the Article or Amendment to the Constitution that allows the federal government to interfere in health care at all.  BETCHA CAN'T!!  No, sparky, the "general welfare clause" does NOT apply unless you can be the first person to cite which of the 18 enumerated powers applies.  BETCHA CAN'T!!  The Tenth Amendment prohibits the federal government from interfering AND MEDDLING in anything it is not specifically authorized, BY THE CONSTITUTION, to interfere and meddle in.  It won't be "free" unless you can figure out how to get medical care and supplies providers to provide their goods and services for free  Good luck with that, sparky.

How is it you think the government can afford to give free health care?  Have you seen the National Debt lately.  Give me a break!

Because NOTHING IS "FREE" !... America is about Freedom and Liberty !

To "GIVE FREE STUFF" you will have to OPPRESS  others.  Take money / hard work/ personal success and give it to people who can not or do not achive this for "THEMSELVES" ....

In America you are free to succeed and free to Fail ! As you See Fit !

america has been invaded. all citizens get ",_free_"  "health care" thru militay hospitals.

the question you might ask is why would americans want international freaks on our continent selling health?

US gives free health care to everyone who makes less than 17 thousand dollars a year, as well as to every child and elderly. Everybody else should buy health insurance or get one from an employee. Government owned health facilities can't give a good healthcare by definition, because government employees are unmotivated since the salary has no link to performance.

No-one anywhere gets free healthcare. It's just a matter of who pays. Who should pay the $40,000 for my recent gall bladder surgery ?

I personally see a step forward being Single Payer. It's the one HUGE advance on what we have today.
