My husband wants to move, I don't?

My husband and I moved out of Mesa 6 years ago.  We currently live in Tucson Arizona.  We have discussed moving to a cooler climate, such as Albuquerque.  Now he is on a kick about returning to Mesa.  The one and only place on earth I do not want to be.  He has two friends there and drives up once a week to see them.  He has even talked about buying a mobile home in the same park they live in.  The park isn't bad, it's clean, but there is no swimming pool.  OMG.  I think I've heard enough and want to leave him.  I offered to compromise and live in the Deer Valley area in Phoenix.  But Mesa is the word.  How do I approach this in an adult manner?

It seems as if your husband's friends are the deciding factor in his choice of Mesa, and your preference doesn't matter.  If he is looking to be that close to them especially if he is considering buying a home near them, then clearly he values his time with them more.  You are willing to compromise but he isn't, and if you truly don't want to be back in Mesa, then sadly it's best for you to leave him.  You'll be happier finding and enjoying your own place wherever you choose to live.

A mesa is an isolated, flat-topped elevation, ridge or hill, which is bounded from all sides by steep escarpments and stands distinctly above a surrounding plain. Mesas characteristically consist of flat-lying soft sedimentary rocks capped by a more resistant layer or layers of harder rock, e.g. shales overlain by sandstones. The resistant layer acts as a caprock that forms the flat summit of a mesa. The caprock can consist of either sedimentary rocks such as sandstone and limestone; dissected
