Is voting in secret part and parcel of a strong democracy?

I guess I meant a secret ballot type thing

    The ballot is supposed to be secret for a reason. There was a time when people just voted and didn't wear their political stripes on their sleeves. IMHO we were a better people before politics eclipsed every other thing in life.

    It is essential. If not brave men would just be outvoted by intmidated men.

    No. Only a secret ballot. People don't vote in secret. Everyone knows what day it is, and when you vote. Some people even have "I voted" stickers.
