You don't seem to learn/are you that lazy?  Your gutter will be in the same state next week because you won't get right on it, will you?!!!

Somewhere between like new and about to fall off. You left out EVERYTHING that matters. What is in the area that would collect and need cleaned? How much rain do you get that would wash it out?

It's not your gutters that will be in the most danger of having problems, it's probably the eaves of your house and the water they aren't directing away from your foundation. You'd better hire someone to either clean them or repair them--because the debris not only impacts your foundation it also impacts your roof. Don't know where you live, how many pounds of debris you're talking about--and what kind--but if you haven't cleaned in 5 years, you're probably risking some damage.  At least get it checked out.

Are they metal or wood? My old house had wood gutters and my old man tarred them every year. Their second house had aluminum.

Depends on how many tress etc are near by. My neighbor has big weeds growing in the muck in his gutters.

It depends on whether there's lots of trees near you, and whether you have one of those gutter screen systems.  Some work and some don't.

But just get out there and start cleaning rather than worry about what state they're in.  Just get going.  Sooner begun is sooner done.Good luck with it.
