Decay on my upper 2nd molar help?

This is my upper 2nd molar. Near the gum line, I feel a small cavity when I run my tongue along with the tooth. I can also feel it with my fingernail too. it's not deep but feel horizontally long, along the gun line (not the whole tooth, 1/3 of the length max)

I had an X-ray taken two months ago and nothing was there,  can one form under two months?

What is the best filling for this location ?  is it best to get a Crown for this ?

Update:

X ray shows both side Left and right and no decay as far as I can say

most people believe poor brushing is the culprit, but low IODINE levels are to blame, I'll bet yours is low near 125mcg.
