Is it true or myth that bad things happen to good people?

Of course bad things happen to good people.  Have you been living under a rock?

Bad things do happen to good people.

It's part of that 'mysterious ways' thing...

The Bible answers in Ecclesiastes 9:11:

"I have seen something further under the sun, that the swift do not always win the race, nor do the mighty win the battle, nor do the wise always have the food, nor do the intelligent always have the riches, nor do those with knowledge always have success, because time and unexpected events overtake them all." 

Some end up in the wrong place at the wrong time.....

It is true to some extent but the bad that happens to good people far exceeds the bad they experience in their life. People just don't realise how much good comes their way for no reason and all they complain for is one mishap which they don't expect.

Nobody is all good so some bad things happen because of the human situation: non-perfection, weakness, ignorance.
