can my dracaena marginata grow without leaves?

due to a small child being left alone, my poor dracaena marginata (dragon tree) houseplant has had all her leaves ripped off, except for a few that were out of reach, and some branches broken. is it going to be able to live? if so, how long do you think it'll take to start seeing new growth? it's quite large, about 8ft at the tallest point. is there anything i can do to help growth along? should i water as normal? thank you :)

It naturally loses its lower leaves as it forms its trunk, the only new leaves will sprout out of the top. It has had quite a shock, so it will take some time to recover. Just keep talking to it.
