Could this have been caused by the surgery?

Blood test 1 day postop showed Neutrophils AB, & Monocytes AB as being elevated; however blood test taken 2 weeks before the surgery showed them well within the normal range. Could the drop in these levels have been caused by the surgery?? Thanks. I am having another blood test in a few days to see if the levels have returned to normal but in the meantime, I'm a little concerned.

Update:

Had blood test done last week. EVERYTHING is at normal levels; therefore the cause for concern was due to the surgery.

Suggest you sit down with your doctor, discuss your results and concerns....while there is still time.

Having a high percentage of neutrophils in your blood is called neutrophilia. This is a sign that your body has an infection. Neutrophilia can point to a number of underlying conditions and factors, including: infection, most likely bacterial.

Monocytes: High levels of monocytes may indicate the presence of chronic infection, an autoimmune or blood disorder, cancer, or other medical conditions. Lymphocytes: If there is an elevation in the level of lymphocytes, the condition is known as lymphocytic leukocytosis.
