No, but she'll be one grade behind all of her classmates and will graduate one year too late.

Instead of letting her fail. Why not consider the option of a online homeschool? You can always take your child out of the school if you let them know that is your intention. I would suggest Mia Academy it is affordable  ($1.99 first month or $200 for the year)and is very good. Your child can work at her own pace and can repeat a lesson until she passes it.  Some kids learn differently just because the other kids are doing good in public school does not mean it works. We all have different styles of learning. You are not going to get in trouble with child services if she is enrolled and is doing her work. You can still take her to a speech language pathologist. But she will be able to work at her own speed and will get more one on one help. Most special ed students benefit from this. Get a procter involved. You and your child will see the difference and she will thank you for it. I have ADD and benefited from this and homeschooled my son who is now in his second year of grad school.

Have you reached out for help? My nephew is an intervention specialist at his middle school.  He has been assigned to help special ed students who have opted to stay at home during this time.

Have you talked to the teacher or principal? 

She can not be the only student they have with adhd and other issues. 

My niece teaches 2nd grade. Her class is completely online now. It is a struggle for some students.  You won’t be the only parent who is having trouble.

I'm just going to presume that if someone's child has failed and won't get promoted to the next grade, the parent will *not* necessarily get into trouble.  If the parent is thought to have been neglectful and/or abusive, however, then perhaps child protective services would be called.  

You'd mentioned that your daughter has adhd and is on the autism spectrum.  If she has been "classified" (as having an "educational disability") by the Child Study Team (cst), perhaps you can talk with the cst about modifying or adjusting your daughter's IEP (individualized education plan), for instance.  The IEP is supposed to include the goals for the student who qualifies for special education services.

If you're not currently aware, the cst usually includes a school social worker, learning disabilities teacher-consultant (LDT-C), and school psychologist.  The cst would need the parents' permission before starting the cst evaluation.

If you are taking about the second grade in a government school it does not matter one bit.   Government schools do not "educate".  Government schools "indoctrinate".  

I have many friends who are teachers. Many children are struggling like this. You won't get in trouble.
