    She is hanging on because Charles will cause the monarchy to suffer a severe drop in public support if he reigns. He has never had the broad appeal that the Queen has. It will not help that Camilla Parker Bowles will become “Queen Camilla” if Charles reigns. 

    Because she cares deeply about the continuation of the monarchy, the current Queen would hope that William and Catherine, with their broad appeal, will succeed her. She will try to live to ensure that.

    Yes, her doctors wont let her die and she has been vaccinated against many diseases.

    No human lives forever. There are people who wish she could live forever, while there are also those who do not.The Queen just has the genes for a long life; her mother lived to be over 101 years old... some people said of the Queen Mother that they knew that she couldn't live forever, but they just wish that she could.
