Do farmers and ranchers in Australia drive utes?

My wife has been watching a TV series set in farming and ranching country in Australia. I sometimes watch bits of it and it often shows farmers and ranchers driving utes. I think utes are pretty cool so I like this. However, I know farmers and ranchers in Oklahoma and none of them would use one for work if they were available here.

Pickup trucks are better and more robust; they also carry heavier loads.

UTES are basically cars with the rear bodywork replaced with a cargo bed.
