Would you live in San Francisco?

Only if I had free rent.

No.  My past California history only went

through San Francisco or attended past

National Speleological Society monthly

meetings of the San Francisco Bay Chapter.

The city recreational resources for me are

all on the coast, littoral, subject to tides,

and requires use of Petzl climbing gear.

While infrequently visited I prefer to locate

an unexplored entry.   

Too expensive and too liberal for me!

If it were a 1 year job assignment or something like that and included a place to live, I'd surely rather be in San Francisco than Houston or Buffalo. But just as a place I'd want to move to? No, too urban for me. 

No. I like open spaces, low prices, and being able to discriminate against people.

I do live in there and I pay my own rent.

San Francisco isn't for everybody, but I can't imagine living anyplace else.

I lived in San Francisco for a couple years while going to school there.  I totally loved it.  The weather is almost the same all year--always a little chilly, never bitter cold (well, seldom).  The air is clean and fresh like a cold drink of water.  There are people from all over, and every kind of weirdo and character (most of them are harmless).  There are alternative movies that you won't see anywhere else (and free film series across the Bay at UC Berkeley).  You can spend half a day in a used bookstore, and on Clement St. alone there are like half a dozen of them (or were). 

I was poor then, you know, a student.  But me and the weirdo friends I made always found fun stuff to do that didn't cost anything.  Like going up to Tank Hill to smoke pot and watch the sun go down into the ocean.  Window-shopping in Union Square and riding the glass elevator at the St. Francis.  Believe it or not, the world-class art museums, the old De Young and the Legion of Honor, were free then!  There were super-cheap restaurants like Sam Wo in Chinatown (Anyone else remember Sam Wo?), or on Haight St. or Mexican places in the Mission District.  Or walking around Union Square at Christmastime and looking at the special displays in the shop windows (before there were so many homeless there.)

SF proper was always a very expensive place to live.  Most 'San Franciscans' live in the 'burbs today.

I love it here! Getting towards 40 years I've lived here. Sitting in my 37+ year old business near Union Square.

San Francisco is not my favorite choice of a place to live

There is no way I would move in with a relative (anywhere) unless that relative is my spouse.

But if someone is giving me a nice house to live in for free, I could considering living in SF for awhile.
