Is the Book of Proverbs a philosophical book?

It definitely contains lots of wisdom that puts modern philosophers to shame.

    Yes it is.  Philosophy literally means "love of wisdom."  I have found lots of wisdom in Proverbs.

    Proverbs 1:2-7 has a general mission statement which well guides.

    "Philosophy" and "philosophical" are of guided and informed contemplation and consideration.

    Your conclusion about Proverbs putting "modern philosophers to shame" is an over-generalization.
