Why do Christians think that questioning their God is wrong?

Update:

You won't learn anything if you don't question things!

Update 2:

There are lots to question. Like, why should we believe in him only? Isn't that selfish? Why does your God keep lying? How is mass brainwashing of humanity not evil?

Straw Man fallacy as Christians do not think that, at the least in a humble sense, not in a prideful sense as Atheists do, think that they have the right to stand in judgment over God and that He owes answers to them (the Atheist).

The word questioning implies that you do not agree with God. I do not do that. And yes I have lots of questions for God. And although I hope that they would be answered right now, I know that if they are not answered now they will be in the future. God wants us to trust Him. And I do. Because He is trustworthy.

Servants of God have asked questions to him in Bible times about what he was going to do, however, they did this in a respectful manner.  One example of this is with Abraham when God was about to destroy the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah due to their depraved practices. At this time, Abraham asked God if he was really going to "sweep away the righteous with the wicked" . This account is found in Genesis chapter 18

For example, Christians could say "Mr. God Fairy, where are you hiding and why can't anyone see you?" And did you really murder thousands of babies according to the Noah's Ark genocide myth?

Christians know that it's not a sin to ask God questions. The Bible is full of God-fearing believers doing that and God is gracious to them, helping them understand. But people on here don't seem to know the difference between asking God questions, and question-ing God. A lawyer will question a person in court and the person has to answer. But God is the judge and He questions us! Read Job 38:1-3 & 40:1-14. No person in the dock would dare question the Judge!

The issue is motive. Do we ask questions to learn and to clear up misunderstanding? Or are we arrogant when expecting others to answer us because we think they are wrong? Your updates demonstrate this point. "Why should we believe in him only?" is a valid question, but to follow it with, "Isn't that selfish?" is illogical. That second Q has nothing to do with the first. But when you then ask, "Why does YOUR God keep lying etc" that's you questioning the Judge to whom you will have to answer on the Day of Judgment. Take care now.

It is not wrong, question away.  But if you are not listening to the answers...your screwed pal.

And you Questions need to be realistic.

    1. Because there is only Him

    2. God is not a man that He should lie

    3. I am sorry to hear your brain has been washed.  But it still seems pretty FUBAR to me...to your mind what does the word "mass" mean

Hard to say, actually, since not a goddam one of them

can prove their god or prove ANYTHING they claim!!

    ========================================

Moron GregKal:  but what is there to question?????

Let's start with the simple fact that you can't prove anything you claim.

Because, like little children who cant think for themselves, they have been told their god is perfect and to question it is a sin. Its kind of stupid if you ask me. If their god is perfect and all powerful, why should it fear being asked questions when it supposedly has all the answers. Fireball is scared to death to even think about questioning her god. Look at her answer. Threats and fear is all you get from her. Why do christians fear their god? Isnt it the god of love?
