Why is the Jim Carey version of How The Grinch Stole Christmas being shown instead of the original animated one in my area? ?

The locals in charge are scumbags?  That version is pure trash!  We have the original in a Christmas movie set.

I'm sure both will air in your area before the season is over.

Side note since others brought it up: Charlie Brown Christmas is being broadcast on PBS

It all depends on What corporation Owns the Rights to it.

Just like what happened to the Charlie Brown Holiday Specials

I remember reading that the peanuts Christmas special isn't being shown on tv this year because some company paid a lot of money to be the only one able to show it on their streaming service. Hopefully the same thing isn't happening to the grinch.  Anyway tv guide said the grinch animated special was shown on tbs a couple weeks ago and hopefully will be on there again soon.
