Do you like onion?

If you do, how do you like it? Raw, caramelised, cooked, barbecued? And which is your fav type of onion? Red, brown, white?

    I only like onions if they're cooked well, not half cooked nor raw. I like them caramelised. I like white onions the best.

    Yes, I LOVE onions and use them all of the time.

    I grow green onions/ scallions and use them almost every day as lither a garnish or while cooking.

    I use yellow onions for French onion soup becauseYellow onions are sweet and caramelize well. 

    I use red onions in salads because they taste best when eaten raw.

    I like to use Vidalia onions when sauteing Meats and using in soups and stews.

    I love white onions in cream sauce.

    From up above I like it carmilaized.

  • Depends.  A shaved red/purple onion is an integral part of a sandwich, burger and/or salad.  A yellow/brown onion is a workhorse in many items.  During the warm months I will put red/purple onions on my outdoor barbecue grill as a side to any mains/proteins I'm grilling.

    There are Dozens of onions available, from yellow, to Green, to Red, to sweet to boilers to Cippolini. Each has a purpose. 

    As to a Fav? Depends on what I am making at any given time. I prefer red on pizza, white in corned beef and cabbage, sweets raw, yellows in Onion Soup.

    Love it raw...sandwiches, veggie salads, pasta salads, burritos, chicken salad. 

    Like it cooked in soups and pasta sauces. 

    Like it baked on pizza.

    Like it sauteed quickly at high heat for things like stir fry or fajitas.

    Not a huge fan of caramelized onion except for onion dip and onion soup.

    Not a huge fan of mushy onion chunks (like slow cooked with pot roast or baked in same pan with skin-on chicken)

    I like red onion for sandwiches and salads.  For cooked onion, regular yellow cooking onions are fine.   I like scallions too (green onions).   I do not like sweet onions like Walla Wallas.   I do not know what a brown onion is.
