Do existing problems from an American car carry over to its rebadged clone sold overseas?
For example, a 2020 Chevy Malibu needing to have its front bumper removed in order to cha the the light bulbs carrying over to the 2020 Holden Malibu???
Is it just something that will stay with the American version?

Aside from there being no 2020 Holden Malibu, your premise is correct. A model that just had a new badge slapped on it and no physical changes is going to have the same problems. That being said, sometimes there are country-specific versions that are different enough that they don't suffer from the same quirk.

Sounds like my Buick: instructions to replace heater matrix "remove right front fender". Thanks GM.
However - are you sure the instructions for your Malibu are correct? I had an early-production Volvo model that called for removing the grill to change a headlamp . . . . turned-out those were the instructions for the Europe version - instructions had yet to be written for US spec with sealed-beam headlamps . . . . their definition of headlamp meant the entire housing/assembly not just the easily replaceable Euro-spec bulb insert.

The over seas versions are always better. In fact light bulbs on Holdens never burn out. They are just that good. Secret is out.
