Do executive producers get to decide how the film is edited?

For example, lets say there is a reality TV show and the executive producer's name is Bob. Does Bob get a say in how the TV show is edited in the sense that, let's say the contestants said something, does Bob get to decide which section the person's words get placed in the time frame of the film?

Update:

I'm also asking, do they get creative freedom in the show?

Yes and yes. They have the final say. Still it varies on the contract.

Sometimes the writers or director has control, and sometimes even the actors.

Depends on the executive producer.  Usually they are higher up in the production and do not make day to day and frame to frame decisions.  That is what they have directors, file editors and producers to do.  But some do still get involved in the day to day editing.  Or they may only look at the show if there is a question or concern about it.  Many will review the show just before it is put into final form and make comments, suggestions, or requests.  Depending on the executive producer (and how he makes the "request") the day to day team may be free to reject his request.  They are individuals and as such each has their own style.

But an executive producer would have the power to demand that a certain edit be made or a scene or line be inserted, edited, deleted, move, etc.

But usually the "executive procuduer" handles more of the business end of the production.  While the director teamed with the producer handle the creative end of the production.
