OK... So I have a new Samsung TV, (around £400) compaired to my S20+, it has nothing!!?

Realised pretty quickly, that what ever I do, wired, wireless DEX, or even wired or wireless screen mirroring (each within has its own qualities)... despite this has Nothing! compared to the screen quality on the S20+, now that I have it, was wondering, realistically how much it would cost to get a TV thats worthy of justice compared to the S20+ (Guessing 1k plus!!)

A lot of people feel that owning something Samsung automatically means it’s a premium product. They’ve built a brand where if you purchase a Samsung TV you feel like you’re getting the best or at least better quality than those of lesser popular TVs or cheaper brands. I think you now know that is not the case. While they do make great phones, but when it comes to TVs it’s a different story.

Samsung in 2020 actually dumbed down a lot of their models, and I believe only their 8K models used actual Samsung panels while the rest were third party. They spent the rest of their time working on next generation TVs, for 2021 they are coming out with MiniLEDs and even then that’s not going to be their next generation models. It’ll be QNED also known as Quantum Nano Emitting Diodes (Not what LG is calling their 2021 model), or their Quantum Dot OLED Hybrid, as well as MicroLED.

Anyways, Samsung TVs doesn’t start offering a truly fantastic picture until their Q80T model and up.

However, if you’re wanting to match your Samsung’s phone display, then you’ll want to look at OLED. I have two OLED TVs, one from LG and another from Sony. They offer the best picture and are beautiful.

If you want to stick with Samsung as your TV, I would personally wait for their 2021 models to drop. They will be releasing I think 4 MiniLED displays. They will be calling them their Neo TVs and I believe two of them will be 4K and the other two will be 8K. This will be as close to OLED as I think we will get from Samsung as they have shown no interest in going with their Quantum Dot OLED hybrid, and they definitely aren’t going to be purchasing OLED panels from LG.

LG will also be releasing a MiniLED display but they will be calling it QNED... why I don’t know. I guess they are hoping to trick people into believing they have the next display technology like Samsung did to compete with LG’s OLED by changing the name of their already existing Quantum Dot LED displays from Nano Crystal to QLED. This convinced people that they were getting a similar product.
