What is this connection called between a mother and her favourite child called (it allows both to sense something is wrong when not around)?

I do NOT have this bond with a lady in my family and I don’t see myself as one of her children. I was her boy before my brother is born, but I prefer to believe I was never one. Anyway, what is it called when one of them can sense something is wrong even when they’re not living under the same old or see each other for long periods of time. 

I have been giving this lady the silent treatment for the last 3 weeks now. 

Would you even check side me as one of her children or her boy?
