if you have a strained relationship with your grown child, do you still love your child?

the reason i ask is because i know someone who claim to hate her daughter and their relationship became strained. they only spoke twice in 10 years. last week her daughter passed away in a accident and her mother for the first time she cried and was saying that she loves her daughter. do any of you deep inside love your children even if you are mad and say you don't love them anymore or they are dead to you and have strained relationship? do you still love them deep inside?

They are my children. I accept that which they can give as they have to accept that which I can give. I can love from afar and not actually make them significant enough to impact my family life.
