Can I get life imprisonment for admitting I committed manslaughter in person even before the police interrogate me?

I had this very strange dream where I caused a person to commit suicide by saying something offensive that lead to him taking his own life which coincidentally caused his brother to commit suicide. I then confessed to a police officer I committed manslaughter in person even before he had placed me under arrest and interrogated  me.  I also remember telling this officer in my dreams that I would like to change my story where he said facts do not work on me before taking me away for manslaughter

I do have one person who is currently depressed which is my mum who I have been giving the silent treatment for over a month now

Update:

I have no intention of talking to my mum ever again. I want to ignore her for the rest of her life without me being her reason why she died.

You can be booked into jail if there have probable cause you committed a crime. A confession is of little value unless the information you provide can be verified. Sentencing does not occur until after you are found guilty in court.

Just giving someone the silent treatment would not meet the legal definition of assisting the suicide. The maximum penalty in my state for assisting suicide is 6 years.

I am glad it was in your dream. You never volunteer information that incriminates you in real life. Fact that it was before interrogation means nothing, because you volunteered. As for the dream, you feel guilty about your silent treatment and are worried she may die and than you will live in guilt for the rest of your life. Go apologize to your mother [in real life], before it is too late,.

There is no state that has the penalty of life imprisonment for involuntary manslaughter. In most states the penalty is less than 10 years, in some states as little as six months in jail plus a fine. A few states have penalties that go up to 30 years.

Good thing about dreams that are unsolvable - I know what to do!  I'll wake up!

Dreams don't always mean what they seem on the surface.
