VAR is the end of top level football (soccer) as we know it, it's the final nail in the coffin of the sport we love?

When it's got to a point where almost every goal is checked and I can't even celebrate because I don't know if 20 seconds later it'll be chalked off or not, then that's top level football dead for me, why should I pay good money to go and watch a game when I can't even celebrate a goal ? some people don't even celebrate goals now incase they get chalked off by VAR.

VAR blew football according to me : for example, I'm Italian, and in Serie A many strange episodes happened in these years for VAR. But even when I watch Premier League, I see referees make evident mistakes in the cases in which VAR has to take action.

I think it’s good. The game is too fast for the linesman to be able to do anything but guess at offside. Having said that they need to redefine what is and isn’t offside.

Having a goal disallowed because a hand is pointing forward is nonsense. I’d like the see offsides given only when there is daylight between the players, otherwise consider them level. Easy decision to make.

Again handball. Slowed down they all look deliberate. No one can get their hand out if the way if it ricochets at 60mph off another player a yard away.

VAR is ok , it’s common sense that’s missing, sadly that’s not confined to football.

Don't disagree with you but I alongside other fans seen this coming. However the overall majority of fans, players and managers wanted it. Well, you got what you asked for, now live with it.

to Leafsfan29-Embrace the drought, this is the asker of the question, it's nice to see a Canadian with an interest in English Premier League football/soccer.

  • Don't disagree.  It should only be used for correcting the obvious mistake and should come at the request of the referee.  If it takes more than 30 seconds, revert to the original call.

It needs to be speeded up, that's all. The VCR ref should stay with the on-field decision, if he can't immediately see a clear mistake.
