Why do people say socialism is flawed?

Because they don 't want to lose their unearned privileges

or because they have a different idea about what it is than you do, like "what the soviet union had", "a type of government" or "equality of outcome"

No, Capitalism is not better. Capitalism rewards people for creating shortages. It makes the rich richer by keeping most of the poor poor.

Socialism is where the people control the means.. Which is BS since it takes the government to distribute the means meaning they are in control of the means just like communism by which, killed 150 million people last century... 

socialism has been tried in north america off and on for over 400 years.  it has caused economic failure every time.  the other major flaw is that socialism inherently requires a police state -- that is, it has to compel everyone to turn over their assets and income to public management -- this, in essence, kills freedom each and every time.  and that kills economic incentive, as well as human rights.  -- grampa

People from Cuba with precarious boats defy being shot, drowned or eaten by sharks to reach the USA. People of Venezuela cross its borders by walking!

The wall that separated Berlin was so that those on the eastern side would not flee from the socialist paradise.

socialism is a macabre system that accumulates more than 100 million deaths worldwide, it didn't work and it never worked, socialism should be a crime.
