To the republican senate and house reps. posturing for trump supporters, why? Why are you siding with fascism? Your cause is toxic.?

President Trump, and for that matter, President Obama, never had dictatorial power. Wouldn't they still be in office if they had? President FDR came the closest with his four elections. President Washington won both elections unanimously. Yet, he refused absolute power.
Fascism is a politician that uses his party & the military to satisfy his whims. No president has ever done that.

folks cried "russian collusion" for years.... but when reminded that it happened on obama's watch, they said "that doesn't matter!"
folks cried "racism" for years...but when reminded of Joe Biden's long history of racist gaffes that continued all the way up to this election season, they said "that doesn't matter!"
folks cried about Trump "ignoring the pandemic," but when faced with Pelosi keeping her hairdresser's shop open and nephew Newsom's indoor dinner parties, or dozens of democrats seen at fancy resorts, they said "that doesn't matter!"
so what...exactly... is YOUR "cause".....?

They are afraid of their bumpkin constituents back home. The senators themselves know full well there was no election fraud, but they know that their uneducated voters in their home states believe Trump's lies (because they desperately want to believe it), and that those voters will throw them right out if they don't at least put on a show for them.

I don't think any of them are on here, but I could swear I saw an answer from Michael Beschloss the other day, under an assumed identity, of course.

People like you keep pretending Fascism is far right wing. But the more right you go, the smaller the government. The farthest right would be no government. Fascism obviously requires a strong central government to even work. Now who, if not the left wing, pushes for a strong central government?

I agree. How can anyone who pushed for cheating on elections (the recent "find me 11,000 votes" comment), undermines the election (claims that have been proved baseless in 50+ lawsuits and dozens of recounts and audits), considers Martial Law, and is now trying to get the congress to undo the election be considered a patriot. We are a democracy... not the kingdom of Trump.

The way our gov is set up, it’s pretty much impossible for a single member of it to implement a fascist agenda. It would require the support of about half the government to do so. Dems and Reps often come together in support of the most fascist agendas, like the Patriot Act

Because partisan politicians never posture for their patron, right? It's the norm not the exception.

You are confusing capitalists with 'American' Democrat - 'national and international' socialists. A 'normal' mistake for 'educated' Democrats.
