Can dogs carry Covid-19 and pass it onto their owners?
I'm worried because a neighbour's dog jumped up on me and I caught it's breath and a few days later they were self isolating after a positive test.

yes it seems dogs can become infected, but I found no info on how infectious they can become.

People please do not worry about things such as dogs as there are enough things to be concerned about already. People are worrying far to much and this is bad for health.

Although dogs have had the Coronavirus for many many years, Covid 19 is NOT the same version of Coronavirus. If his owners have gone into self isolation after being tested positive for C-19, I suppose it might be possible for some droplets from them to be on the coat of the dog - but to catch C-19 from his breath - nah. At least nothing has been discovered to suggest that's possible.

Not heard of dogs or cats carrying it in the U.K.
I'm sure we would have been told.

No dogs don't get it, but cats do.

It seems not although cats might be able to. Keep as bit of perspective. Unless you are elderly or already have health issues covid is not particularly dangerous. Dogs are wonderful, Everyone should have one.
