a grain of sand and the universe?

people say the universe is big.  but have people thought that the universe thinks of itself as a normal size, and it's in a universe of its own that it finds humongous?

    "People" would have to be actually crackpots to think that.

    Why would anyone entertain such a crackpot idea if there is no evidence to suggest it is true?

    No, because the UNiverse is everything.  If there was a Universe of its own, that would be the Universe.  Galaxies used to be called "island universes" once, but they are still in the Universe per se.

    The part of the universe that we can see, the observable universe, is 46 billion ly in radius. But there is much more that we can't see. It might be a trillion times bigger, or a google times bigger, or infinite.
