Herbal products usually have less negative reactions. Allergies are mostly caused by a leaky gut - so, GAPS diet would be my first thought. Aluminium is another allergy causing material - Enterosgel should flush it out.

There is a huge difference between an allergic reaction and a side-effect.  Allergies are very dangerous.  Side effects can be mild to severe. Some are just a nuisance (drowsiness or dry mouth) and some are life-threatening (bleeding).  ANY product you put in your body (food, beverages, herbs, pharmaceuticals, etc.) with cause some kind of biochemical reaction.  It might be the breakdown of foods to produce glucose that triggers insulin release or it might a decreasing inflammation for pain relief.  There is no guarantee that an herbal remedy is more effective or safer than a pharmaceutical.  If someone has lots of allergies or sensitivities, they are better of with doctor-prescribed (and monitored) medications than herbal options because herbal products are not monitored for active ingredients or purity the way medicines are.

Essentially, no. ANYTHING you use (food, meds, laundry detergent,  anything) can trigger an allergic reaction. Some are less or milder than others. He should see an allergist to try and pinpoint the reactions not just keep taking things.
