In the 2004 film, "The Terminal", when Viktor prepares to go back to Krakozhia to save Janitor Gupta from getting deported back to India, why does Gupta immediately run onto the tarmac in front of Viktor's plane and yell "I'm going home."?

You know the real life guy was from Iran but Jewish Hollywood had to change that.

It was Gupta's way of stalling the plane so that Viktor could instead pursue Amelia. Viktor had backed down previously as part of a deal to keep Gupta from being deported back to India. With this act Gupta is also raising his finger to the system and essentially giving up his hiding and will be deported. Viktor now has nothing to lose (he wont miss his delayed flight, Gupta is already going to be deported) and goes after her.
