Should I tell my former supervisor that I don't feel appreciated?

I been working at my job since December, 2011, but I have been laid off for two years in 2019 and 2020 before the pandemic. I felt unappreciated when laid off twice and during the pandemic. I've been on call but I have not been working. I want to text her and let her know how I feel, but then I'm thinking that I should keep it to my myself because she probably does not want to hear it and can't do anything about it. I've known my former supervisor for years and she seems nice, but I want to be able to talk to someone about how I'm feeling, as if I have a friend? What should I do? What would you do if you were in my shoes?
