Yes, although it was probably written by a speech writer. He ran on a promise to cut government aid. People took that to mean that people would be forced to get off welfare and get a job. However, I told my students at the time that it meant that funding for education would be cut, and college would get more expensive. And it has- to the point where the student debt situation is at a crisis point. Many ways that the government helps us are beneficial and necessary- k-12 schooling, police and fire departments, decent roads to drive on, regulations that make air travel safe, etc. People like Robert like to pretend they don't benefit from these services. And they make up lies about Obamacare.

Yes  And he has been proven correct many times over the years.  How's your health care?  Cheap and with the doctor you liked?

He did say that.  He didn't write it, he wasn't the first to say it, but he said it.  And it's true.  Other things you should never believe are...

    - Your cheque is in the mail.

    - Some of my best friends are lawyers.

    - I'll pull out before I come.

    - It's only a cold sore.

    - I only had two beers.

    - The boys don't like that kind of girl.
