Our apartments used to be called San Montero...but now it’s just called Montero. What does San mean? ?

It’s located in Arizona. There’s a lot of apartment complexes with “San” before the name of the apartment, and there’s a town called San Tan. What does San mean? I’m assuming it’s Spanish.

    It means "Saint".  (So does "Santa".  "San" is the masculine and "Santa" is the feminine.  For example, San Diego is Saint James, San Francisco is Saint Frances, etc.  An exception is Santa Claus, who is male.)

    Montero is an occupation related to hunting.

    San Montero is likely the Saint of hunting

    If it's feminine, then "Santa" is used.
