Should I get check for endometriosis?

For a couple years now I’ve had pretty awful periods. I have cramps to the point I’m almost on the floor crying. I’ve been also having pain in my vagina on my periods. I’m not sure if the pain is supposed to be normal or not. I’m only 18, and I’m not sexually active, so idk if sex would be painful or not. I’ve always been scared of going to a gyno, but if if there’s a chance there could be something wrong I’ll suck it up and go. Helpful advice please?

It may not be endo. It could just be hormones. But either way, suck it up and go. It is worth checking out what might be causing it and there might be something they can do to help. Beware that some female doctors that don't have cramps, do not understand and will write you off. Speak your mind and if you feel like the doctor is blowing you off, use a different one. I suffered for years because I refused to go on the pill to regulate it and NSADs did virtually nothing. Though when I was 18, Alleve was the most effective for me and that worked for a few years over Motrin. Having a baby years later (when I was ready) cured my menstrual problems. If you ask your mom, I bet there are other women in your family tree that also suffered from this. Find out who they are and find out what they did because while it's common, it is definitely not normal but it's often nothing they can do much about. Once my own daughter started having issues, I didn't hesitate to let her go on the pill and I wish I had when I was younger.
