My house has been way too quiet since I got my hearing back. What can I do?

Okay, I regained my full hearing just recently, and now the house sounds weird. I can clearly hear my stereo from my room to the living room, I can hear my heartbeat, and I can even hear my breath. Other than that, the house seems Way too still and quiet. Is there anything I can do to fix this? A white noise machine would just be too expensive, and since it's winter, I can't run a fan. What can I do to get some background noise in my living so that it doesn't drive me batty in there?

Update:

Is there a term for hearing too well all of a sudden? It's like my senses just jumped to a 10.

Update 2:

I don't have a functioning television, so that's out. Just covering that possible answer at the start.

Some sounds are better than others.  I really don't care for the sound of farting.
