Is xbox one powerful?

It wasn't exactly astonishing even when it came out - which was 8 years ago.  The gaming computers that exist today are obviously more powerful than something that came out in 2013, but the Xbox One is not necessarily "weak" in any way.

compared to what? A PS4? they are around the same. the computer that took man to the moon? the xbox one is a super computer in that sense. compared to the IBM summit, one of the most powerful supercomputers? the xbox one looks like a pocket calculator in terms of power.

Really powerful but comparing it to other consoles like the PlayStation would be an apple and orange comparison.  It is powerful than its predecessor by a long shot. As you side by side games from the Xbox one system and the PlayStation system, the quality of the games depends on the developers effort in porting that game to that particular console. 

If developers find a gaming console hard to code then likely the game ported on that console isn’t going to be that great and thus makes consumers falsely assume it is the consoles ‘weakness’ 

Compared to an atari, yes. Compared to my gaming rig, not even close.

get an xbox one x if you can find one.  especially if you care about 4k gaming.  xbox one s would be another option if you still want a disc option.  if you're all digital, look for a xbox series s when they're in stock.  that little machine is still powerful for 4k gaming too.

It's way better than the computer that was on the Apollo 11 lunar module that took people to the moon in 1969.

But, so is basically every mobile phone.

Xbox One was released in 2013, and it was pretty powerful (in terms of processing capability) for 2013, but like every computational device, it is rapidly overshadowed by what comes along next. But that doesn't mean that it isn't great.
