What's the difference between organic white rice and regular white rice?

I thought it was a gimmick then got two bags on clearance. The organic rice is soo much better. Tastes like a restaurant and more healthy at the same time. Has that slight startchiness that makes you feel the grains are better. So is organic in reference to how it's grown? Is one grown in a petri dish and the other in the ground?

No crops are grown in petri dishes.

Both organic rice and conventional rice are grown in the ground.

Organic rice, to be certified as organic, needs to be grown only with the use of organic-approved pesticides, and organic fertilizer.

Neither of those things should make a significant difference in the rice's taste or texture. My guess is that it might have been a different variety or different processing.

But in any case, if you like it better, go for it!

Organic rice tastes better because you’re not tasting the pesticides that’s used to kill pests. Who knows what’s in the water that’s used on regular rice.

Organic rice uses no chemicals, pesticides, etc. to help get rid of pests. I think they use natural predators like spiders, bats, owls, to get rid of pests.

I dunno.

I just know organic means it grew naturally without pesticides or chemicals that made it grow faster and more at the same time.... these chemicals that can cause cancer and other illnesses.
