I was at work and saw it on Yahoo. No, it wasn't a surprise for me. When they said he had been rushed to the hospital for an 'unknown' illness, I thought it could be serious. When they said it was stage IV cancer, I realized his chances of survival were not high. So reading of his death was not a shock at all.
