Would you say immersing yourself in a language 100% is the best way to learn a language fast?

I'm trying to learn French and Japanese quickly so I can use it abroad. Is thinking in those languages entirely not just trying to learn but immersing the best way scientifically?

    You need to use the language daily

    While it is the best way, it is not practical to do this unless you already are in the foreign country whose language you want to learn.
