Is it possible to be in a romantic relationship without having to compromise too much?
While i’m interested in having a romantic companion in my life, I feel to achieve that i’m going to need to compromise a lot and give up a lot of things like my freedom & independence first of all, sadly I didn’t get to have much of that in my younger years and just after losing my Mum a couple of years ago and cutting off toxic family members out of my life. I’m still just getting used to having any control over my life and I don’t know if I am or if I will ever be ready to give up my freedom and independence.

Short answer: NO
Long answer : NO.
Too many people these days think relationships are more about their own satisfaction, than their partners. A good relationship is one where BOTH parties understand that compromises have to be made.
You cannot go into a relationship, expecting to have all the freedom and independence you had when single. A relationship isn't for independence.
