Yes, at Trollville Elementary, it happens on a regular basis. It's right there in their rules and they don't care if your mommy doesn't like it.

I doubt that this has ever happened in the US.
If it did then the staff member should be forced to replace the shoes out of their own pocket.
Plus their employment at the school should be reviewed.
I know that I would not want anyone that took actions like this working around children.

No it is not legal file a lawsuit against them. Higher the most expensive lawyer you can possibly get the shoes could only be worth about $100 but you can get your legal fees up to about $6,000 and it will teach the school of lesson when they have to give you $6,100 for a pair of shoes that they burn.
